The Anchorage offers a beautiful and secure boater’s paradise in the exclusive Vaal La Mer area, consisting of 2/3 bedroom units positioned along 300m of private waterfront. A wonderful location to live permanently or use as your quick weekend getaway with Johannesburg only an hour away.

These spacious units are designed for the outdoor enthusiast, as well as those looking for comfort and easy living, with expansive views and stunning sunsets over the water. Each unit is built with open plan living areas, private patios and a built-in braai. The kitchens have state-of-the art finishes with granite counter tops.

The Anchorage is surrounded by open space, nature and agriculture with

plenty of hiking, walking and biking trails on one side and direct access to the Vaal dam for fishing and water sports on the other. Boat garages, launching facilities and docking spaces are added features of this development so that your relaxation is assured.

A general recreation hall, swimming pool, childrens activity area and a beach vollyball court are among the planned amenities. We want you to enjoy every minute at this fun location.

Our restaurant is within short walking distance of our self catering units the conference center, function hall, pool and waterfront.

An impressive Children’s Play Center Gym is situated right next to the restaurant to occupy the kids while the parents enjoy a tasty meal from our extensive menu serving Eggs and bacon, omelettes, pizza, pasta, fish and chips, steak, other meat and vegetarian dishes as well as tasty desserts. We can prepare most everything you desire.

We are generally open for breakfast, lunch and dinner over weekends and public holidays. We are available for private functions and parties by arrangement.

We have a big screen TV for sport and entertainment, a snooker table and Dart boards for your enjoyment.

Relax and be pampered by our excellent staff indoors or out on the verandah as the kiddies have fun on the play center and lawns and your enjoy our cuisine, magnificent views and sunsets.

Weddings

We are able to accommodate intimate weddings in our conference center. Large weddings can be accommodated in the hall or on the lawn overlooking the Dam or next to our infinity edge pool at the waters edge.

We have ample space, with meticulously manicured lawns, flower beds and a tranquil pond with Koi fish. The reception hall features high ceilings with large windows overlooking the gardens, and caters for a central dance floor for exceptional events.

Seperate preparation rooms available, ideal for the bride and bridesmaids to prepare for the momentous occasion.

Full catering can be provided by our restaurant on site.

Should you wish to enjoy your wedding weekend with us we are able to accommodate you and your guests in our two, three and three bedroom delux self catering units.

Riviera On Vaal Vereeniging

Affectionately dubbed the Grand Dame of the Vaal, Riviera on Vaal epitomises legacy and endurance. In the early 1930s, the site where the hotel now exists was once a kiosk to service leisurely visitors making use of the river for a swim, boat ride or picnic by the banks. American film maker, entrepreneur and developer, Isadore William Schlesinger, fell in love with the area and built the pristine hotel, first opening its doors on 29 August 1936.

Since South Africans did not have the privilege of television until 1976, dinner and a movie at Riviera on Vaal became the place to be, and to be seen. Tragically, in early 1975, devastating floods destroyed the area. Low-lying regions of Vereeniging were completely submerged in water, including most of the hotel grounds and the adjacent golf course. Miraculously, the hotel managed to survive this natural disaster.

Midvaal Private Hospital is situated in Three Rivers, an eastern suburb of Vereeniging. It is a modern 134-bed facility with a history dating back to 1996. We are approximately a 45-minute drive from central Johannesburg.

Midvaal Private Hospital prides itself in being a highly specialised healthcare unit, while offering an intimate environment to provide top-class nursing care. Our advanced facilities provide medical excellence in most medical disciplines. At Midvaal Private Hospital, we pride ourselves in the premium care we offer to our patients. Our facilities meet the highest standards set by the international medical community, complemented by state-of-the-art equipment. Our comprehensive range of services will ensure that all your medical requirements are taken care of. Our fundamental aim is to make sure that you are always provided with the best treatment and care. We also pride ourselves in our own in-house catering facility.

Our modern facilities will not only provide you with the comfort needed to get healthy as quickly as possible, but with our specialists on call, all your needs will always be in the very best of caring hands.

The hospital consists of 134 beds. We have 5 operating theatres, including a cardiac theatre and a cardiac catheterisation laboratory. Our 11-bed, fully equipped Intensive care unit makes provision for 6 intensive care bed, 5 high-care beds and 4 isolation cubicles. In addition, the latest monitoring systems have been installed in this unit.

We provide a 24-hour casualty service, with a doctor on call 24/7. Our 12-bed maternity unit and neonatal high care provides great quality services. We also have a 10-bed day ward for one-day procedures.

Our state of the art paediatric unit consists of 11 beds and is supported by 4 paediatricians. A brand new 22 bed medical unit, with an on-site physician.

The hospital has a 6-bed post-operative orthopaedic unit, for special care after major orthopaedic procedures
